You’ve heard of speed dating, you may have even tried it, but now it’s time for Speed Learning!  Join us for lunch at 11:30, then at noon the fun begins. We will be offering four different learning sessions all taught simultaneously at the end of twenty minutes move to your next choice.  You will have the opportunity to learn about three different topics in one fun filled hour.

eLearning Authoring Tools


Bill Hardesty will cover eLearning authoring tools. After a quick review of the eLearning spectrum, he will review training questions to consider about developing and using eLearning. He will also present authoring tools questions to consider before buying a tool. His printed takeaway will list these questions as well as additional sources to review.

Bill has worked in the training industry in some way for over fifteen years. His experience ranges from serving as the Training Officer in the United States Coast Guard Reserve to developing and delivering HR training at American Express.  Over the last few years, he has morphed into an elearning professional and loves it. Currently, he is the instructional Designer at the Bank of American Fork developing elearning courses in Lectora along with other software programs.
   



Selecting and Utilizing an LMS

A Learning management system is a key components in any learning strategy, and with todays offerings, there is a system to match any budget. Wes will quickly cover the basic benefits of any system, and focus on an ultra low cost system anyone can afford. At the end of the session six months of free LMS service will be given away.

Wes Stockmann (SPHR) graduated from the USC school of Cinema, and spent 18 years in various production, IT and management roles at Universal Studios. With his technical background he has helped develop an LMS, training tools, and brings entertainment and learning together as a Director of Organizational Development and Human Resources.  With the firm belief that people learn more effectively when engaged and laughing, he brings his entertainment business experience to the learning profession to deliver truly effective interactions.




Using Video in Training

 There are so many video available for trainers to use; it is a shame that we don't take better advantage of them. Learn how you can integrate video in your training.  From integrating YouTube to creating your own training videos, it is cheaper and easier than you think.


Jay has over twenty-five years of experience in training and development. He coauthored the book Lights! Camera! Training! and has presented at several national conferences. He is currently the Manager of Corporate Training for RC Willey Home Furnishings. . Previously, Jay worked as a Training Coordinator / Internal Quality Auditor for Autoliv Safety Products, and as an American Sign Language instructor for Utah State University. Jay is President of the Utah chapter of ASTD. He enjoys any activity that involves his wife and four children – especially travel


Social Learning

Over the past few years there has been an explosion of social media and learning tools. Join us as we review     the latest research on social learning, examine how training software providers are incorporating this into     their platforms, and discover how employers are utilizing social learning tools as a medium to train their employees.

Jake White is President and CEO of Prometheus Development, a technology company that launched its flagship product, Torch LMS™, in 2010. He is a Certified Professional of Learning and Performance and holds a Master’s degree with an emphasis in Organizational Psychology.
