Utah ATD 66 - years of Excellence. 

Chartered in 1952 as the Utah Personnel Training Association,  ATD Utah is the local chapter ofThe Association for Talent Development. The Utah Chapter of ATD is an ATD Chapter of Excellence, recognized as a regional association for workplace performance professionals.


The chapter provides members with a forum for professional development opportunities and resources to improve the workplace learning and performance industry. The Utah Chapter holds monthly professional development and networking events.  The big event of the year is the annual conference held in the Fall, where workplace learning professionals from around the state gather to for a full day event. 


The Association for Talent Development (ATD - Name Changed in 2014 from The American Society for Training and Development ASTD), founded in 1944, is the world's premier professional association and leading resource on workplace learning and performance issues. ATD provides information, research, analysis and practical information derived from its own research, the knowledge and experience of its members, its conferences, seminars, publications and partnerships.


National ATD's membership includes more than 70,000 people working in the field of workplace performance in more than 100 countries worldwide. The leaders and members work in more than 15,000 multinational corporations, small and medium businesses, government agencies, colleges and universities.

ATD Utah is led by an all-volunteer board of directors. The board is charged with maintaining an ethically-responsible organization that complies with federal and state laws, and the bylaws of the chapter and of ATD. As part of this responsibility, we believe in full and open disclosure of our financial performance.

 
Elias Adams
President
R. Elias Adams is the Senior Director of Learning and Development at England Logistics, where he has spent the last seven years.  Throughout his 20 year career he has been involved in facilitating, designing and developing new hire, continuous improvement, sales and leadership courses.  He received a Business Administration degree from Weber State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.    
 
Lisa Jastremsky
Past President

Lisa Jastremsky is currently a Field Training Manager at Octapharma Plasma Inc. She has been an ATD Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) for 4 years.   She is a dedicated leader with over 16 years in the talent development field, having accumulated over that time a variety of skills, experience, and education that help her build impactful learning opportunities and experiences.  



 Jason Sturges

President Elect

Jason Sturges, Med, CPLP is the Sr. Learning & Development Associate for BioFire Diagnostics. In this role, he creates & manages comprehensive organizational training & development programs; sources, coordinates and develops/delivers relevant content; and assess & identifies knowledge & skill requirements at both an organizational level – and, in collaboration with managers – at a departmental level too.  

As an avid reader and change agent, Jason’s research and consulting pursuits embrace the talent management/development, human resources, and organizational design & development arenas. Specific topics/projects in the past have included: corporate orientation/on-boarding, team development, trainer development, facilitation & presentation skills, coaching/mentoring, leadership development, program planning, and learning transfer.

 
Yvette Amparo-Espinoza
VP of Finance
 Yvette Amparo-Espinoza originally from Manhattan, New York has made Utah her home for the past 25 years.She joined Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District over 18 years ago and is the Training and Development Coordinator. She has a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management and is passionate about learning and sharing what she learns which has made her life anything but boring. She believes that even if something doesn't need fixing, it could always be improved.

 
Shannon Herrera
VP of Professional Development
 

Shannon Herrera is an Sr. Instructional Designer at AllenComm. She joined the Utah ATD chapter last year as one of our volunteers helping out with the adiministrative role.  She has been a wonderful contributor to the team and has some great ideas for this upcoming year's events.  



Eric Showalter

 VP of Membership
Eric Showalter is a native of Utah and currently lives in Centerville with his wife and three daughters. Eric received his bachelor's degree in business management with an emphasis in organizational behavior and human resources from BYU’s Marriott School of Management. Eric currently works at Orbit Irrigation Products, a world leader and manufacturer of residential sprinklers, as a member of the Human Resources department and is responsible for corporate recruiting and talent development. Eric is PHR and SHRM-CP certified. Eric is excited to be more involved with the Utah ATD chapter.
 
Todd Hadley
VP of Networking
Todd Hadley has worked in the L&D space for over 20 years, so yeah it's his passion.He has worked in the Financial Services, Healthcare, Outsourcing, Manufacturing, and Service industries.Todd's focus is on sales training and leadership training and development. He is certified in DDI, AchieveGlobal, StrengthsFinder Coaching, Behavioral Styles, Franklin Covey, and is a certified Master Trainer for AchieveGlobal. Personally he carries this passion over as well with his non-profit organization, My Brothers My Sisters, that provides education scholarships for children in Ecuador and Ghana. He lives in Layton and LOVES the University of Utah!


 
 
Emma Hartsfield
VP of Marketing
Emma Hartsfield has over 10 years of experience creating value for businesses through sound marketing practices that have been tried, tested, and proven. She currently works at AllenComm as Director of Digital Marketing.  She earned her Bachelor's of Science in Business Marketing from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Florida State University.
