As educators, you have probably all heard a quiet sigh or noticed a subtle cringe from learners hoping to avoid the inevitable "turn to your neighbor and share" moment at the beginning of class. For that reason, we are very excited to share this unusual ice-breaker activity that has been expanded into an interesting and engaging experiential learning activity. It not only will get people talking and instantly raise the energy level in the room, educationally it has the power to create alignment and prompt perspective-taking within the organization. During the session, you will experience the activity and then walk through logistical considerations for successful deployment in your own training setting. Teri Olsen is the Director for Innovation and Collaboration for Nursing Services at University of Utah Health Care. Elizabeth Koyle is the Organizational Development Manager at University of Utah Health Care.

Nowadays everyone is trying to become more innovative.  Why?  What’s it all about?  And how can you build a culture that really encourages the kind of innovation that leads to great results?  Was Steve Jobs the last innovator?  Learn more and plan your next steps in this presentation about innovation. Meredith has a highly varied career, with experience with natural gas vehicles, continuing education for CPAs, managing 425 people in the Salt Lake Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and many years in Leadership Development.  For the last 13 years, her work home has been at American Express, where she has continued to work with leaders.  Beyond her work life, she can’t resist discovering new ideas in science, history, music, and the adventure of family life.
